London witnessed pure Counter-Strike magic today as G2 Esports clawed their way through fire and fury to conquer Team Vitality in a 3–2 Grand Final thriller at BLAST Premier London Open. What unfolded wasn’t just a series, it was an instant classic, a heavyweight slugfest that swung back and forth until the very last round on Train.

Dust 2 – G2 Fire the First Shot

The series kicked off with G2 looking untouchable on Dust 2. Their CT setups clicked like clockwork, suffocating every Vitality push. A lone bright spot came from Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, who reminded everyone why he’s CS royalty with a jaw-dropping ace clutch in Round 11. But even his brilliance couldn’t save Vitality from a 13-3 demolition that set the tone.

Mirage – ZywOo Goes God Mode

Vitality answered with vengeance on Mirage. If Dust 2 was G2’s show, Mirage belonged entirely to ZywOo. The French superstar ended the map with a 30-6 K-D, including a flawless T-side where he didn’t die once, plus another ace to ignite the crowd. G2 had no answers as Vitality tied the series with a 13-6 statement victory.

Overpass – Vitality Take Control

Momentum swung hard in Vitality’s favor on Overpass. After a 6-6 deadlock at half, Vitality’s defense turned ironclad. G2 couldn’t break through, failing to win a single T-side round. ZywOo and his squad smothered every execute, closing it out 13-6 and putting Vitality just one map away from the trophy.

Inferno – G2 Refuse to Die

Backs against the wall, G2 came out swinging on Inferno. The map looked grim early, with Vitality jumping to a 6-1 lead. But G2’s resilience kicked in. Round by round they clawed back, forcing overtime. Once in OT, they were ruthless, stealing the map 16-12 to drag the final to a decisive fifth. The crowd erupted, this wasn’t ending quietly.

Train – HeavyGod Slams the Door

Everything came down to Train, and G2 made it their fortress. Their CT side was suffocating, finishing the half 8-4. The knockout blow came when HeavyGod pulled off a pistol-round ace to ignite his squad. Vitality tried to rally, but the momentum was unstoppable. G2 powered through to a 13-6 win, sealing the championship in emphatic style.

A Grand Final for the Ages

This wasn’t just a victory, it was a war of attrition and brilliance. Vitality had the series in their hands, fueled by ZywOo’s godlike heroics, but G2’s refusal to crumble under pressure defined the day.
